Bold Futures is a unique one-week summer program designed for up to 50 young women entering 10th - 12th grade to build awareness of the business and career opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).
Explore the career and business opportunities in STEM through hands-on projects in robotics, technology, food science, business, and more!
Find yourself surrounded by a supportive network of women including other campers, camp advisors, and staff. Build friendships and connections that will benefit you throughout life.
Off campus, campers will experience leading STEM-related businesses in Minnesota and get to know the women who lead them. You will also get an inside look at what life is like on a university campus.
In addition to engaging in hands-on, team oriented learning on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato attendees will explore STEM through a variety of off-campus learning experiences with leading corporate partners in Minnesota. They will also be exposed to prominent female leaders in our region including the Minnesota Lynx, and enjoy outdoor adventures like rock-climbing and kayaking.
Each day will include hands-on and team-oriented learning in STEM and business. Campers will work on projects related to robotics, computer science, food science and investing and learn more about developing their personal brand and communication skills. Additionally, campers will interact with regional women leaders in STEM and business, engage in adventure-based learning outdoors and on-campus, and experience field trips. Finally, campers will share their final projects with parents and fellow campers during the last day of the camp.
Campers will live in the modern double semi-suites of the Julia Sears Residence community at Minnesota State University, Mankato the week of the camp. Each morning will begin with active curriculum followed by off-campus excursions in Mankato and Minneapolis in the afternoons and evenings.Click here for the Virtual Tour
